Palace of Soviets 1936 дворец советов

Boom! and Boom!—thundered cartridge after cartridge. But a whole day of blasting left still standing two towers of the Cathedral of the Christ Redeemer. Next day they crashed. By the end of next year the Palace of Soviets will be ready for the future "World Revolution of the World Proletariat." Monday, Dec. 14, 1931 [Time]

The Palace of the Soviets was planned as a monument to Socialism and Congress hall. If built it would have been taller than the Empire State Building in New York.  That never happened, but it would have made for an impressive monument.

The foundations were used in the restoration of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.

New Orleans Arcology Habitat (NOAH) is a proposed urban Arcology (architecture and ecology), whose philosophic underpinnings rest in combining large scale sustainability with concentrated urban structures, and in this case a floating city."
